Statement from Clearway Energy Group

In October 2024, Clearway Energy Group and Hawaiian Electric made the difficult decision to end the current round of contract negotiations for the proposed Makana Lā Solar, Kaiwiki Solar, and Puakō Solar projects.

Clearway remains committed to Hawai‘i and its renewable energy future, and our operating portfolio on O‘ahu (Mililani I, Lanikuhana, Waiawa, and Waipio) will remain the same.

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the many community members who have supported these projects. While we can't move forward right now, we remain hopeful that we will be able to restart these efforts and bring these projects online in the near future.
